Watch Men’s Golf at the 2024 Paris Olympics: Schedule and Top Players to Follow

The 2024 Paris Olympics are finally here, and golf enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the men’s golf tournament set to kick off on August 1st. With the United States aiming to defend its gold medal, all eyes will be on Xander Schauffele, the reigning champion, and a stellar lineup of competitors from around the globe.
Xander Schauffele is returning to the Olympics just two weeks after winning his second major championship in three months at The Open in Scotland. Schauffele is in peak form, playing the best golf of his career, making him a strong contender to defend his gold medal.
Joining Schauffele is world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who has also been in remarkable form. Scheffler won the Masters in April and has clinched six victories since March, establishing himself as one of the top players in the world.
The U.S. team is further strengthened by Collin Morikawa, who has been consistently impressive in major tournaments this year. Morikawa’s notable performances include a T-3 at the Masters and a T-4 at the PGA Championship.
Rounding out the American team is Wyndham Clark, who, despite not being in peak form this year, is a former major champion, having won the 2023 U.S. Open. This talented lineup positions the United States as a formidable force in the quest for Olympic gold.
Ireland poses a significant challenge to the U.S. team with Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry leading their charge. McIlroy, despite a disappointing performance at The Open, came close to winning his first major in a decade at the U.S. Open. Lowry, on the other hand, showed excellent form at The Open in Scotland, finishing solo 6th.
Spain’s team, comprising Jon Rahm and David Puig, is also a strong contender. Rahm, a two-time major champion, has been in excellent form on the LIV Tour and performed well at The Open.
Sweden is another team to watch, with rising star Ludvig Aberg, who has quickly become a top-five player in the world in his first full PGA Tour season. He is joined by Alex Noren, a seasoned player known for his strong performances in major tournaments.
France’s hopes rest on Matthieu Pavon, who is currently playing the best golf of his career. Pavon won his first PGA Tour victory at the Farmers Insurance Open in January and achieved two top 15 finishes in majors this year, including a T-12 at The Masters and a solo 5th at the U.S. Open.
